Top 10 iPhone Apps of 2010

Last Dialect, we featured our favourite virals, so why not our favourite Apps?

Like all great iPhone Apps, we've chosen our favourites because they're simple and easy to use. We're all for functions, but if it's too complicated, it gets a little embarassing when you're fumbling around trying to show your friends. As a rule of thumb, if it takes longer to use iPub to find the pub than it takes to get to the pub it might not be the best app.

Top 5 Worldwide Apps

Facebook: A no brainer. With the whole world's addiction to social networking this site tops the list of must have apps!

Shazam: Name that tune! Ever hear a song you love but don't know who it's by? This app listens to the song and then provides you with song name artist and a convenient link to iTunes where you can buy it.

GPS lite: Here's an app that knows where it's at. Free GPS and loads of fun.

Pandora: It's like having a personal DJ in your pocket. It knows your musical preferences by the choices you make, so the longer you listen the more likely you are to hear a song you just lurve.

iMovie: The next step in social network sharing? Now you can send an edited titled movie of your exploits to all of your friends within minutes of it actually happening!

Top 5 Irish Apps

RTE news: Fully functional site including video news clips. Perfect for when you miss oul Pat Kenny.

Oxegen App: This kick ass free app is the ultimate accessory for Oxegen. It will help you find bars, stages, toilets and – get this - even your tent. With personal line-up schedules, up-to-the-minute alerts and instant access to tweets about the gig, little wonder it's top of the iTunes App Chart.

iPub: Can't find a pub in Dublin? Unlikely. But if so, iPub can help – showing you the quickest route to your next pint!

Guinness Area 22: A must for the rugby fans, get your fix of fixtures and much more with this convenient app.

TheFuelAPP: We're pumped up about this one. If you're tired of paying out big money for your petrol only to find it cheaper down the road, you can use this app to find the nearest discount. Fill her up!
